Filming- 28th October

Today I began to film my music video, I starting filming shots of the beginning scenes. I filmed at around half past 4 so my location wouldnt be busy and I would still have clear lighting.I filmed a range of different shots to establish where the artist was and I feel these shots worked well. I also did somelip syncing shots which were very clear and when in the editing stage I will now be able to do this easily as my cast member wasgood at lip syncing.However due to it getting dark quickly I didnt film as much as I would have liked, butI have scheduled another time with my cast member to film some more shots.

Starting Filming

Over the half term holidays I am going to begin filming the beginning of my music video. I have arranged a date with my main cast member Chloe and the date we have arranged is Tuesday 25th October. During this time I will begin to film a variety of different shots of her lip syncing the first verse. This will take place at one of my chosen locations, where she will be able to sit on some steps and play guitar, while also lip syncing. The props I will use throughout these shots is her guitar. As well as filming the beginning I will also try to film other shots, like the shots while she is in her room also lip syncing and looking through photographs.

From looking at my shot list I can see what shots I will be able to film on this day. I have decided I will film shots 1-6, 15-17 and shots 20-22. These are the shots with just the artist in, I will then arrange another date for when I can film shots with both the artist and other cast members.

Advanced Portfolio: Peer Assessment

After reviewing my blog posts myself, I then got one of my class friends to assess my blog. Liam Copeland did a peer assessment of my blog so far so I can now make changes to my blog to get it to the level I want it to be. I now feel I know what changes I need to make and how I will do them. This will include things such as videos,

links and podcasts to improve my blog.

From looking at my peer assessment sheet I have now gone through what I need to improve on. I have created an action sheet, outlining what I will do next to improve my blog. The sheet also shows my target grade for my a-level and my AS grade.

Review of Blog Posts

In todays lesson I completed a record sheet of all of my blog posts so far. I recorded the date and blog post titles. This was to see if all of my posts were titled appropriately for each post. I then went on to make changes to some of my blog post titles as some of them were the same.

Ancilliary Task: Muisc Magazine Advertisement

For the Ancilliary task I will create a music advertisement for the album from which my song has been taken from. In this case the album it has been taken from is 'Fearless'. I have currently been looking into the history of music magazines and how advertisements look for albums. I have now closely looked at one music magazine and researched the audience and institution of the magazine. This magazine is 'PowerPlay (Rock & Metal Magazine).From reseraching a music magazine I can now do further research into what magazines my chosen artist would appear in and what similar music advertisements have been shown in magazines already. I have found a few magazines that my artist 'Taylor Swift' has already appeared in, however these magazines are all American this is because Taylor Swift is an American artist. So now I will carry out more research into British Country Music Magazines.

The magazine I think my artist would most likely to advertise in is Maverick. Maverick is a new British Country Music Magazine, Taylor Swift being a country pop artist would advertise her albums in this magazine along with other country artists. Maverick magazine is for country, folk, bluegrass & roots music, the magazine is currently a digital magazine online and its first printed issue will be relaunched in December/January 2012. The first issue will feature artists such as Lady Antebellum. Maverick magazine has been around since 2008 but since 2010 has gone digital, however they are no going back to printed versions as there are now more country pop artists. Taylor Swift has already appeared in two issues of Maverick magazine as it is a magazine that represents her genre of music. Maverick also features a list of tour dates, alongside with gig reports and on tour features, flagging up some of the best upcoming gigs for the coming month.With over 100 CD reviews every month, the 108 page magazine champions everyone from Lady Antebellum to Mumford and sons and Ed Sheeran.

From researching the music magazine Maverick, I will now go on to do three textual analysis of music advertisements. However, as this magazine is not relaunching till December I can not get a copy of the magazine. This means I will have to get advertisements from different magazines from similar artists to Taylor Swift and country music artists. I could use an older issue of Maverick from looking at the digital copies online and get images of the music advertisements to analysis in detail. This will then give me a better understanding of music advertisements.
